The 77th Annual Chincoteague Island Pony Swim was held on this week at Chincoteague Island, Virginia. I was there. It was the first time, and probably the last time. I was excited at seeing all of those horses. Genetically untouched since their arrival to the island a few hundred years ago. No one knows for sure how they ended up there or why the remained. I don’t think they are as wild as we like to think – they have vets and cowboys who round them up, they know what human interference is that is for sure. They were beautiful and I am glad I went but too many people that day and it was just too sad to see them herded into a pen knowing they were going to be auctioned off so some human could own a little bit of wild … I hate that.

Raised in a military family, Lehnanne moved around a lot and that is probably why she likes to move around as an adult. She and Michael have been full-time RVers since 2007. Their home is run for the safety and comfort of the fur-Kidds.
