As we posted earlier, we spent some time in Red Bay Alabama touring the Tiffin Motorhomes facilities and talking with various people there.  Everyone we met was extremely helpful and courteous even though we were no doubt interrupting their routine.

We were lucky enough that the timing of our visit happened to coincide with the production of a new 2016 Allegro Bus 45OP, in a new interior color.  Further, we got to see all the new interior and exterior color schemes as well as the new exterior graphics design.  Lots of great changes coming!

With all this new knowledge, we were able to quickly decide what we wanted, get a final price approximation (final 2016 pricing is not yet available) and … drum roll …
PLACE OUR ORDER!

White Mahogany Custom

On May 8th, Bill Hardy of Davis Motorhome Mart in Memphis TN submitted our order to Tiffin.

Our New Coach

  • 2016 Tiffin Allegro Coach 45OP
  • Shimmer Interior (new for 2016)
  • Natural Cherry Cabinets
  • Custom Exterior Colors (based on White Mahogany)
  • Delete both Bed Slide Windows
  • Bott L-sofa w/ Ottoman
  • Wolf Induction Cooktop and Wolf Convection Microwave
  • Delete towel bar inside shower

We’d like to extend a special thanks to David and Brenda Bott of OursideOurBubble.com.  Our search for our next rig was greatly helped by their amazingly detailed posts on their custom Allegro Bus 45LP build.  Further, David was gracious enough to exchange emails and phone calls with me to talk through their experience and thoughts on the Tiffin Allegro Bus line which were invaluable to our decision making!

With any luck, we should be getting our build number and production schedule in the next week or so.  We plan to be on-site at Tiffin at least during the build and initial steps of paint, but possibly longer depending on my work obligations.

Here are some other photos of the floor plan and to highlight the new interior and some of the changes.  NOTE: Our unit will have MUCH lighter cabinets than what’s in these photos.

Very cool! I think if we order another Tiffin we’ll be designing our own color scheme too. We did order a “no longer available” scheme (“NASA”) so we’re different from almost all other 2014 Allegros, but now realize we’d like something specific. I assume you’ll be at Red Bay watching your build? -Mike

Oh yes… We plan to be there at least for the main build, and the initial steps of paint. And no further away than Memphis for the remainder. I hope to stay in Red Bay for the entire thing, but my telecommute work may dictate otherwise (if the local internet access isn’t up to the task).

Great choice w/ the NASA paint job! Ya, we wanted something a little lighter on top than the Black Garnette which Tiffin elected in the White Mahogany.. and we didn’t care for the triangle of paint on the lower rear of the coach.. Just little touches, but we like how it looks (on paper anyway.. 😉 )

It’s too bad Tinfin makes their windshields so damn high , but you can live with that . Mike see if they will lower the awning over the door to where it really belongs , I have never understood why they put it so high above the door . Maybe you can get an answer .

Michael · 2015-06-02 at 20:53

Hey Jim, Thanks for the idea regarding the awning over the door… I’ll definitely bring that up with them! Our current rig has a very high windshield as well… We have used the MCD Shade to knock down the sun a bit when heading west in the evening..

Congratulations on your new Tiffin. We have also ordered ours. Have you gotten your #? We have gotten our confirmation from Tiffin but not the build date. Let us know when you do

Hi Nancy, Our build number is #00007. It starts in about a week. We are super excited. What floorplan are you getting? Also you may want to contact Tiffin directly to get your build schedule if you haven’t already.
