    Hi kidds,
Glad you sent me the link Lehanne. Now I can keep up with you guys. We will be leaving South Dakota on September 8th, heading to North Dakota for a week to see our kids up there, then heading home to Iowa for a month. We’re not sure what we are doing this winter yet. Take care safe travels.

Hello George, thanks much for chatting with us on our way out.. I’m on The Tiffin forum as ‘linuxkidd’. I’ve not posted anything on there as of yet… but I’m sure I’ll become more active once we take delivery.

Safe travels!

Hello Michael,
I stumbled upon your youtube vids then found your blog and ……I’m hooked! My wife and I are in the latter stages of listing our house, packing stuff. We are going full time (our first MH) in a 2016 42LH. We will order it and also be on sight to observe each station of the process as you are doing. We are a little scared but much more excited and ready to go! Please keep the vids coming as they really provide a lot of insight into the process. They really help anyone planning to be there for their build to understand the amount of work and detail involved in the process. To me it also imparts an abundance of knowledge about the “innards” of this complicated machine. You’re living my dream but we’ll be out there soon!

Have been following your build and am pea green with envy!!! We ran into Bob and Judy in Felton, CA, and saw the 2016 Phaeton they were driving that had moonbeam interior, which is very similar to the shimmer interior of your coach. We fell in love with it. Have wanted a coach with a grey interior. We currently have a 2008 bus, and are hoping to buy a new one in the next couple of years, or buy a used 2016 in two or three years. That’s when we can finally retire so if you are looking to sell that soon, keep our email address and let us know if you move up to another coach. Your coach is beautiful, Enjoy!!!

    Hello Karen,
When we saw the swatches for the Shimmer interior.. and then saw a prototype on the line with it (first week of May, 2015), we were smitten! We’ll certainly let ya know if we’re ready to sell by then.. but we anticipate this coach being with us for 15+ years.. 🙂 Congrats on your pending retirement and good luck with the new coach search! 🙂

We were in St. Louis several years ago visiting family and stayed at a very small campground past Mehlville, but there was a nice one up north and I have included the website. Don’t know if it is too far out for you to go, if you return to the St. Louis area. It is past Maryland Heights, by St. Charles. My husband loves your name “Turtle Herding”. Looking forward to hearing about your travels.

Michael,
They say IT folks travel in small circles. It seems the RV life may make them even smaller. I am not sure if my name rings any bells, but I used to work with you at NTAP while in NC. My wife and I moved up to PA for a couple years to be close with family. A little over a year ago we decided to take our life on the road and started looking at the different types of motorhomes we could easily go full-time in with the four-legged kids.
I tend to obsess when making any large purchases which usually means I am reading reviews, watching build videos and flipping through manuals up until we I have a receipt in hand. While watching a couple build videos my wife sent me, I noticed the words linuxkidd show up on the screen. (i had the sound muted). After a couple more minutes of watching the video, I saw your reflection and was able to confirm it was you. Small world.
We are in the final stages of negotiations on a Tiffin Allegra Bus 45 OP. We hope to get in line for our build in a couple weeks. I would love to catch up with you on the phone to compare experiences, and to pick your brain on a couple questions I have when time allows.

Thanks,
Chris Nelson

    Hey Chris!
I don’t know how I missed this post.. but based on the dates, you’re likely well into (or probably completed) with the build! Hope all is going well, and welcome to the road!

Curious what paint / interior options you got!

We’re in Vegas right now, but moving down to Phoenix on Saturday… Hopefully we’ll cross paths down the road!

I noticed the new built in computer stations you had built. Very nice. Great craftsmanship. Did you have to remove your credenza with the dining table in it? I didn’t see it anymore. If so, was wondering if you’d be interested in selling it if it’s something you kept. Let me know. Thanks.

    Michael · 2017-03-25 at 06:38

    Hello Harlan,
We did remove our credenza, however, many parts of it and the dining table we’re repurposed in the new desk. I’m afraid there’s really nothing left from it.

The corian became part of the trim, our pullout keyboard trays, and two pullout work space extensions. Even the doors and drawer fronts, along with most of the wood structure was used in the new design. We hate letting things go to waste 🙂

Thanks for the interest, and safe travels!

Michael,
Talk about ominous parallels…. I’m a former Navy Nuc… ET/RO Submariner, have a Monaco Diplomat converting to 24v currently using Jeep Wrangler as Toad, and took delivery of our Model X P100D in September. Thinking about putting it in a 24′ enclosed Jim Glo trailer instead of the Jeep.

Would love to interface with you as I just got my modules from HSR and saw your well thought out math post on Tom Morton’s page. V/R Dan

Hello Kidds,

I just watched your build videos. Wow, gorgeous! Love! As we just finished a 4 1/2 month above garage addition, I can’t fathom how Tiffin does this in 9 days!! Envy! Love you guys! Lynn
