I know a lot of coffee junkies β€” the kind of people that don’t consider themselves awake or even alive until after their second cup. I don’t get it. I have had a damn fine cup of joe and still prefer tea.

Living in the south sweet tea is the king but also not for me. I do enjoy a cold glass of unsweetened tea, with no lemon, please. The only time I use Splenda is if I am out and the tea is, for the lack of a better word, stale.

I love herbal teas, flavored teas, loose tea, plain old pekoe. Iced, hot … it is all good.

We have a shop here called “A Southern Season” … you know a lot of girls go crazy over a new pair of shoes — this shop allows me to get that mad over tea!

You have your choice of boxed tea – Lipton, Republic of Tea, Tazo and so on. But the real find is the loose teas. Nothing better than taking a nice black tea and mixing it with something light and fruity to come out with the best glass or cup of tea you’ve had in a while. Cherry and Black make a nice afternoon snack tea. Orange and Pekoe are good for a wake-up.

White teas are a sweet dessert or hot summer day teas. Red tea makes a great “espresso.”

What kind of tea do you like?

I only like tea that doesn’t taste anything like tea. Hence, my liking for Chais, because they taste like cinnamon and cloves. If I can detect a whiff of tea-leaf flavor, I gag. πŸ˜›
